Sales assistant, Cottesloe

We are a family-owned bulk wholefoods shop at 460 Stirling Highway, Cottesloe. Customers bring their own jars, we weigh everything by hand, and people come back because we know the products and remember their names.

We are looking for a sales assistant to join the shop floor.

What you will do

• Serve customers at the counter and on the floor, and help them find what they came for
• Weigh, fill and label bulk products, including customers' own jars
• Refill the bins and shelves, rotate stock and check use-by dates
• Keep the bins, scoops and scales clean and the shop looking its best
• Pack online orders for pickup and delivery
• Answer questions about ingredients, allergens and how to use a product

What we are looking for

• A real passion for food: you cook, you read labels, and you like talking about both
• Attention to detail: correct weights, clean labels, tidy bins, the right change
• A friendly, calm manner with customers, including on a busy Saturday
• Reliability: you turn up on time and do what you said you would
• Happy to lift boxes and stock, and to be on your feet for a full shift
• Retail, hospitality or food experience is a plus, but we will train the right person

Requirements

• Australian citizen or permanent resident, with full work rights in Australia
• 18 years of age or older
