Coconut Flour is a great nutrient-dense wheat flour alternative. This grain-free flour is perfect for those on a paleo or keto diet. Coconut flour is most commonly used in gluten-free baking; such as cookies, bread, cakes and muffins without leaving an overpowering coconutty flavour. It is important to remember that you can't substitute coconut flour with a 1:1 ratio to regular wheat-based or gluten-free baking flours. The idea is to try and cut down the amount of regular flour to 1/4 of what you would normally use. In addition to this, every 1/4 cup coconut flour typically requires 1 egg (or chia or flax egg for a vegan option) for both moisture and structure.
