Great Northern beans are a medium-sized, oval-shaped white bean with a mild, somewhat nutty flavour similar to cannellini beans and a creamy texture. Also referred to as "large white beans," they are excellent in dishes like baked beans, soups, stews, and casseroles, absorbing other flavours well while holding their shape during cooking. They are a nutritious food, providing protein, fibre, and essential minerals, and are readily available dried or canned.
